VietBay Group

VietBay Group

VietBay started in the early 2000s with a small group of Vietnamese who came to study in USA and settled in the Bay Area. We used different mailing-lists to communicate, with the current one established in 2011. Overtime, other Vietnamese with similar backgrounds joined the group and the mailing list expanded. At present, there are over 650 members in our mailing list.

VietBay has been organizing volunteer-based events to preserve Vietnamese culture and foster the bonding between the community of multi-generation American-Vietnamese families living in the Northern California area. We also regularly conduct fund-raising events to assist socio-economically disadvantaged Vietnamese in the face of emergencies.

VietBay Inc., the NPO representing VietBay, was incorporated in 2018 in the State of California as a 501c(3) nonprofit organization. Current members of the Board of Directors are:

  • Minh Do (NASA, President)

  • Thai Duong (Google, Vice-president)

  • Binh Le (Juniper Networks, Vice-president)

  • Trang Le (Treasurer)

  • Duc Ha (Sumo Logic, Secretary)

VietBay Inc. is 100% volunteer-based, with Board members working out of their free time. Board members don't receive a salary and have no expense accounts
